Breast Lift/ or Bilateral Mastopexy Breasts that sag, mammary ptosis, can be corrected by mastopexy, a procedure under anesthesia to elevate the sagging breast and reposition the nipple area. Several methods may be used with differing results, and the technique chosen needs to be planned with a fully trained and experienced surgeon who is able to assess the client's goals and plan accordingly. The techniques all involve skin excision and tucking and consequently do leave scars, but the less the sagging the shorter the scars because there is less tucking. Not infrequently mammary augmentation using a saline-filled implant is done simultaneously. Or augmentation may be done instead of mastopexy for modest sagging, and this will disguise the ptosis.
