What's the difference between the old Fraxel and the new Fraxel re:store Dual?
Fraxel re:store is the original Fraxel laser product, it is non-ablative, heats the skin in pixilated columns that results in collagen stimulation. Results are improvement of fine to moderate lines & wrinkles, & improvement in skin pigmentation (as well as tone & texture). Patients would require 4+ treatments with the old laser.
Fraxel re:store Dual laser adds another wavelength to the re:store laser. It is very specific & effective at treating brown pigment including sun damage lentigines (sun spots), age spots, & in some cases, melasma. In only 1 treatment, remarkable clearance of brown spots fade in about one week. This laser is faster, more effective & comfortable than the older version. Face & body can be treated. Less treatments are required for a refreshed appearance.
Another advantage of the Fraxel re:store Dual is that the two laser treatments can be combined at the same treatment session for those who desire a deeper treatment for collagen stimulation (dermal rebuilding) along with removal of brown spots.
