Dr. Jervis started using saline
inflatable mammary prostheses in 1974, and most of the approximately
2000 cases he has done have saline implants. Most are placed under the
pectoralis major muscle, which does not interfere with mammography,
and only rarely encapsulates. His experience is considerable with augmentation
mammaplasty, and he has consequently presented his experience to his
peers in plastic surgery at educational conferences.
